Catching up on lost times | Toronto Newborn and Family Photographer

Well, here I am! After over a year of blog slacking and not posting any of the wonderful sessions I shot, I am attempting to catch up! Let's start with this cutie - he was such an adorable little guy...who is now over a year old and I can't even begin to imagine how much he has changed!

Next up is this sweet family! I had so much fun with them, even though there was quite the chill in the air that day (I can't believe I remember that and it's been over a year since I shot this session)!

Another sweet newborn baby up next! How cute is this little "football"?

TWINS!!!!! How I love twins!!! I imagine that they're a ton of work, but wow, do they ever make for amazing photo subjects!

Next up is this cute teddy bear! Don't you want to hug him? Love those cheeks!!!!

This little girl, whose newborn photos I did a year before this shoot! I also got to see her at my 2015 Christmas/Holiday Mini sessions! She has grown so much and is still as sweet as ever! One of my (many) favourite things about my job is seeing how much babies grow and change!

Recognize this little guy? He's the same "football" from above! It's crazy how much a baby can change in only a few months! If you can't tell, his parents are huge sports fans! GO LEAFS GO!

This family was tons of fun as well! Daddy earns major bonus points for getting his wife a family photo shoot for Mother's Day (I hope my husband is reading this...)!!

And how I miss this wonderful family!! They were SO amazingly nice and fun to hang out with!! Their baby is adorable as well!!

Aaaaaaaand we're back...

This little one was beyond adorable! She was such a gorgeous baby and her parents were so sweet and loving to both her and each other. It makes me smile to see such a happy family!

And last, but certainly not least, the adorable baby pictured above's Auntie, who is also my very close friend, Ashleigh and her perfect family! They are expecting their third baby - a boy this time, in a few short weeks!! I'm so excited to photograph him when he makes his big debut!

Adorable Arya | Toronto Lifestyle Newborn Baby Photographer

Arya may not be as little as she was in these photos (this photo shoot was a while ago, as I'm still getting caught up on blogging), but there's no doubt in my mind that she is still a cute little baby! Shortly after doing Arya's Mommy's maternity session, Arya entered the world and I visited her and her beautiful family at their lovely home! Here are some of my favourites from this lifestyle newborn session. I have to say that I'm really, really loving lifestyle photography! A family in their natural environment doing natural things - you simply can't top that! These are the types of photos that families will cherish for years to come!

Thank Heaven for Little Girls!

My family is filled with girls - I have three younger sisters and two daughters, so naturally, when this family walked into my studio with their three beautiful little girls, I was in heaven! Baby Natalia was showered with affection from both her parents and her two older and adoring sisters. What a lucky little girl this baby is to be surrounded by so much love! Here are some of my favorite shots from baby Natalia's Newborn shoot - she was such a little doll!

Baby Brother has arrived! | Toronto Newborn Baby Photographer

Baby brother actually arrived quite a while ago, but as you can probably tell from my lack of posting, I've been on a blog hiatus. I figured since it's officially "back to school" time, it should also be "back to blogging" time. I haven't purposely been neglecting my blog...life and an extremely busy shooting schedule (both amazing things that I am incredibly thankful for) kind of get in the way sometimes! Anyway, this gorgeous family welcomed their newest family member not long after I shot Mom's maternity session! A third boy, lovingly nicknamed, "Baby Brother"!! What a lucky Mommy to be surrounded by so many boys!

Here are some of the photos I captured of this wonderful baby and his wonderful family!

It's a bird...It's a plane...It's...

SUPER BABY!!!

This cutie patootie flew into my studio (no, just kidding...he didn't fly...but that would be cool, wouldn't it?) all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, intent on proving to me that he would NOT fall asleep! But Superbaby, like most other babies (knock on wood...I'm very superstitious), finally caved into taking a trip to dreamland and I was able to capture some amazing shots of him!

Check out adorable baby Noah! Isn't he SO cute? Noah's parents are HUGE sports fans...can you tell from the pics?!? ;)

It's twin season! | Toronto Newborn Lifestyle Photographer

A while back I ran a promo on newborn lifestyle sessions to build my portfolio. One of the lovely families that responded to my promo, was blessed with adorable (as in, too adorable for words) twins - a little boy and a little girl! Even their names, Leo and Olive, were too cute to handle! This was my first newborn twin shoot and to say that I was excited, is an extreme understatement! This family welcomed me into their home and I captured some wonderful shots of the babies, their big brother and the family! I seriously could have stayed there and photographed these babies all day, but I'm pretty sure the family would have kicked me out eventually ;)

Two times the fun...make that three! | Toronto Maternity and Family Photographer

We've all heard people say that twins are double the trouble and double the fun! Although there may be some trouble (or "sibling love" as I like to think of it), it seems to me that twins are more fun than any amount of trouble! That must be why this family decided to go for baby #3 - triple the fun ;) This family was super duper friendly and a joy to photograph! The boys were definitely ready to welcome "baby brother" into the world at their Mommy's maternity session!

I haven't posted a blog entry in a while because I was waiting for this wonderful new Blogsite here to be completed. Now that it's complete, I have some blogging to get caught up on! And since this maternity session post is ever so slightly overdue, "baby brother" has now been born and I was thrilled to shoot his newborn session yesterday! Here's a sneak peak of "baby brother's" newborn session. Mom and Dad are overjoyed and taking their time to decide on the perfect name for their newest addition. I imagine it would be quite overwhelming with three little boys to look after!

Sweet Sarah |Toronto Newborn Baby Photographer

Ok, I'll admit it - sweet baby Sarah made me want to have another baby...like NOW...as in today... ;) Since I have my hands pretty full already, I suppose I'll wait to pop out a third baby for the moment. And that is one of the many reasons why I love my job SO much!!!! I get to hang out with adorable babies and get my baby fix in :)

This little one definitely made me work for it, but once she settled down, she fell into a deep sleep and let me capture some adorable shots of her! Sarah reminded me a lot of my first baby, who was fussy for a good three hours at her newborn session and was also a little blonde "toe head". It's a good thing Sarah's parents were so fun to hang out with, because we definitely hung out together for quite some time! I think this session is one of my favorite newborn sessions to date! I am in love with some of the images I took of this little angel and can't wait to see sweet Sarah again soon!

Newborn Model Call for Lifestyle Photos!! | Toronto Newborn Lifestyle Photographer

A couple of days ago, I was contacted by a potential client wanting to do a newborn lifestyle session in her home. I was SOOOOO excited about this!! It made me realize how much I love doing newborn lifestyle sessions! Then this potential client asked for some examples of newborn lifestyle photos I had taken. It was only then that it hit me...I really haven't done very many. It's not that I haven't done lifestyle sessions before - I have done many (though not as many as studio sessions), but I have barely done any newborn lifestyle sessions before. Clients are always coming to me for my studio newborn photography and it makes sense - my studio shots are plastered all over my portfolio and I have a ton of experience doing them! And it's not that I don't love studio sessions, but I love lifestyle sessions equally as much. So it's time I start building my newborn lifestyle session portfolio and for that, I need some willing newborn volunteers! It's time for a promotion!!! I'm doing some portfolio building in this particular area and giving away four newborn lifestyle photo sessions for only $200 +tax each!! That's half of my regular newborn session fee!! Wow, I've never felt so much like a telemarketer.... Anyway, you still get 15 images included in the session fee and up to 2.5 hours of shooting time :)

If you want to book one of these four spots (actually, three spots, since the first has been taken by the client who originally contacted me), please send an e-mail to laurenlawrencephotography@gmail.com. In the subject line, please put, "Newborn Lifestyle Session Promo".  Please include your expected due date or date of delivery, your postal code, a photo of your baby's nursery (or if you haven't decorated yet, please describe how you plan to decorate and take a photo of the room anyway), a couple of quick snapshots of your home and a current snapshot of your family (taken in the last 6 months). These snapshots do NOT need to be professional photographs!!

This offer may not be used towards sessions that have already been booked. Other terms of this promotion are:

1. The session must be booked and shot by the end of August, 2014.
2. Your baby must be under two weeks old at the time of the shoot.
3. The session must be shot in your own home.
4. Your home must be within 10km of postal code M4R 1M5
5. This is NOT a prop/studio type session. The backdrop for your photos will be the backdrop of the baby's nursery and your home.
6. You must have a lot of natural available light in your home - big windows, sliding doors...

Just to reiterate one more time - a Lifestyle session is very different from a studio photography session. Almost all of the photos of newborns you see on my website (https://www.laurenlawrencephotography.com) are studio type shots and not lifestyle shots (hence me trying to portfolio build in the lifestyle category). Lifestyle sessions are much more casual, not as posed, focus on capturing family memories and the true interaction between loved ones in their own home or natural environment. They essentially document real life moments. Although there may be some baby posing done, the focus is on more natural images.

Adorable Baby Hudson | Toronto Newborn Baby Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet little guy not too long ago. He was such a dream baby...nice and sleepy :) About a month after I did Hudson's Mommy's maternity photos, baby Hudson made his appearance in the world and came back to my studio to meet me. I had so much fun using some of my new props with this little guy (could the Oscar the Grouch inspired garbage pail and hat be any cuter???).

On a different note, I am SOOOOOOO happy that Spring has finally arrived in Toronto!!! How nice it is to wake up to the birds chirping and see the SUN!!! I was beginning to question whether the sun existed here in Toronto! To brighten up your weekend even more, I'll leave you with a few of my favorite shots of this adorable baby and family!
